Men As Allies 2nd Discussion

On August 6th GirlSpeak Hosted An Open Discussion. The discussion focused on how men and women, young and old, are allies to each other. We also discussed how we can work together to make the world a safer place. Although we didn't have as many gentleman present as we expected, the discussion was still a success. Everyone had something positive to say. The leaders of the discussion were Kiara Lanier and Erika Dickerson-Despenza. Other topics that were discussed included the media's depiction of women and men, the "definiton" of respect, archetypes and the role they play in respect, and music and allies. The two hour mind-boggling discussion was very interesting and it had peope who usually are silent speaking their minds. Look out for up-coming GirlSpeak events as well as SwaggerZine Events.
